Hi folks,
If you closely follow this list (either the EM list or the ES list), you may remember that I somewhat reluctantly suggested a periodic call for electoral-reform advocates that is vaguely neutral with regards to the food fights we frequently have about election methods, but may have a slight bias toward believing the Condorcet winner criterion is very important (if not paramount) among election method criteria. See below for my October message on the subject (both to EM and to ES):
- EM: http://lists.electorama.com/pipermail/election-methods-electorama.com/2025-O...
- ES: https://hio.mailmanlists.us/archives/list/election-software@hio.mailmanlists...
After I sent that message to both lists, there wasn't much of a response. Per the conversation several of us had today in a different video call, I'm going to host my first "Electorama!" call on Wednesday, December 17 at 2pm Pacific Standard Time, barring unforeseen complications or last minute rescheduling.
Please learn more about how to RSVP and what next steps are here: https://electowiki.org/wiki/User:RobLa/Electorama_call

Rob, please send reminders the day before and day of. I want to get to this. Also post an invitation to r/EndFPTP and other possible venues. And also post reminders there. Maybe also notify the principals at CES, EVC, betterchoices.vote, and even FairVote (and subsidiaries like FairVote Washington).
I am sorry for missing the October one.

Hi Robert,
I may send out another reminder the day before, but I'd like to assume that most members of this mailing list know how to use calendar apps, and you'll note that I put the word "reluctantly" in my last email message. I'm babysitting a lot of public forums, and I'm spread pretty thin for the amount of money I'm being paid for said babysitting. I enjoy the video calls I host (and attend), but in many ways, I'm hoping a different host steps up. There was substantial digital arm-twisting involved in the setup of the December 17 meeting.
I'll assume that this message is your way of RSVP'ing, and I'll put you on the December 17 GCal invite list, as I intend to do with everyone else who RSVPs. GCal makes it very simple to set whatever email/popup alerts you want so that you'll get emails at whatever interval you want them at. I THINK I've turned off the ability for attendees to see other attendees' email addresses, but please let me know if I misconfigured that.
TIA Rob
